I know Torts is very fond of Carlsson , seeing how he used him ad nauseum versus the Penguins . I agree , Carlsson, Dubois, Abramov and first is way too much. If anything , I hope Kekkaleinen can pivot and find some other serviceable center to play second fiddle behind Wennberg , who will ask for his share of money btw.

You can't dance with someone who doesn't want to dance with you, and that is where the Avs are. IMO they would rather keep him and try to make it work than trade him, while watching his value fall through the floor. If I was the CBJ I would wait, because when the AVS have 25 points in mid-January and Duchene us playing like he skates on one leg the price for him will be heavily discounted.

Jackets fans, would you do this trade?

Duchene and a third for Gabriel Carlsson, Ryan Murray and Boone Jenner

Sakic must be hitting the bong in CO !! No way Jarmo gives up Carlsson, Dubois & Abramov for Duchene.
I thought Murray was definitely part of the deal. Carlsson, although good, is a stay-at-home D, which are pretty easy to pick up, and/or groom.
Why not switch Milano for Abramov, he needs a change of scenery. With Murray & Milano, there's 2 first rounders.
We could get Duchene without touching our top 4 D, and top 6 (9?) forwards.
Duchene's numbers have declined over the last 3 years. But he does fill a need for CBJ. However, there's not a problem going into the season with what we already have. The kids are alright !

No, probably not. Murray and Jenner are quality NHL players, a former #2 pick who was on the first pair until Werensky proved he could handle the top pair. Jenner is still likely a future captain who scored 30 goals 2 seasons ago and 25 last year, and a promising young player.

All that for an expensive guy who has had two bad seasons in a row who has a lot of talent but hasn't showed it and a draft pick that has a marginal chance to play in the NHL. He might be a 90 point player in Columbus, but there are no guarantees and you want two or three proven players for him.

Would hope that CBJ takes a pass at Duchene. Agree with the comments regarding his decline due being on a bad team; however, he is not the type of player needed during the playoffs. He is way too soft and is non existent in games that are physical. He has the talent to put up a lot of points during the regular season but don't see him helping when it matters most. Stick to the kids and let them develop.

Drouin for a single prospect. Why should Duchene be worth so much more? Id give up Murray and a prospect. But not a top rated D prospect along with Murray.

There is 0 chance Boone Jenner will be in this deal. My guess it is something like Murray or Carlson along with one of Bjorkstrand, Anderson or Milano, and a draft pick, possibly a #1, but probably a #2. I'd love Duchene, but he ain't Connor McDavid. If Jenner were in the deal in any form it would be done by now. Personally, I wouldn't trade them even up-don't forget, Boone scored over 30 in 2015-16.

If that deal does not work, keep him.

Thoughts on a trade with Toronto for JVR? Good idea? What would it take?

I have little to no interest in Duchene and I'd give up very little to get him. Maybe Carlsson, Milano and a 2nd for Duchene and a 3rd. The only way I include Murray is if it's a 1 for 1 swap and even then, I'd probably not do it. We swapped Joey for Jones in a 1 for 1 and only managed to get Jones because NSH had a huge need for a center. I don't CBJ as having that need quite so much.
